The Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has decided to implement a single policy interest rate mechanism, the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR), transitioning from its dual policy interest rate mechanism with effect from today (27 November). 
The Irrigation Department has issued a flood warning for several low-lying areas of Malwathu Oya Basin, effective until 5.30 a.m. on November 29, 2024.
