Sri Lanka has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation by announcing its ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). 
Minister of Power Energy Kanchana Wijesekera on Thursday (Sept. 21) held constructive discussions with the officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank with regard to reforms in the energy and power sectors. 
A resolution proposing the suspension of MP Ali Sabri Raheem from representing Parliamentary Committees was approved by the parliament on Friday (22 Sep.). 
The Colombo District Court today (22 Sep.) ordered that the interim injunction preventing Sarath Ekanayake, who was appointed as General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) after Dayasiri Jayasekara s expulsion, from serving in his new position, be further extended.
