The Provincial Education Secretaries and Directors have been authorised to make a decision on whether or not to hold schools tomorrow (June 03) due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions across the island, State Minister of Education Aravindh Kumar said.
Major flood situations have been reported in Millakanda area of Kalu River and Pitabeddara area of Nilwala River, the Department of Irrigation said. MORE..
The Ministry of Education has decided that all schools across the island will remain closed tomorrow, according to State Minister of Education Aravind Kumar. 
The acceptance of applications for the admission of students into the intermediate grades of national schools will conclude tomorrow (June 02), the Ministry of Education says. 
UPDATE- The Colombo-Kandy main road has been restored for traffic as the fallen tree at Warakapola has been cleared, the Police Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa said.
