Several areas in Colombo and Kalutara experienced power disruptions earlier today (June 6) due to a tripping of the Biyagama-Pannipitiya main transmission line, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) confirmed. 
Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunathilaka has withdrawn from the three-member committee appointed to inquire into a complaint regarding the conduct of Attorney-at-Law and Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekara. 
Former Executive Director of the National Lotteries Board (NLB), Thusitha Halloluwa, has been further remanded until June 13, said Ada Derana reporter. 
Former Minister Mervyn Silva has been indicted before the Colombo High Court in a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), alleging possession of undisclosed cash and assets exceeding Rs. 800 million. 
The Sri Lanka Railways Locomotive Operating Engineers Union has temporarily suspended its planned withdrawal from operating services on the coastal railway line, which was scheduled to commence at 12 noon today (June 6).
