President Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that he expects to increase the growth rate of Sri Lanka s economy up to 3% by the year 2025 and mentioned that steps would be taken to increase the salaries of government employees. 
The Science question paper for the 2023 (2024) G.C.E O'L examination has been prepared beyond the provisioning plan, MP Madhura Withanage alleges.

The Meteorology Department warns that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Polonnaruwa districts today (12).
