The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed an indictment before the Colombo High Court against former Minister Mervyn Silva. 
Attention was drawn towards the decision by the government to provide state patronage to perform the final rites of late veteran actress Malini Fonseka, during today s weekly Cabinet media briefing
A Red alert warning has been issued for strong winds and rough seas for sea areas extending from Chilaw to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota. 
The case filed against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who is accused of misappropriating over Rs. 12 million during the period leading up to the 2015 Presidential Election, was taken up for hearing again today (27) at the Colombo High Court.
