The acceptance of applications for the admission of students into the intermediate grades of national schools will conclude tomorrow (June 02), the Ministry of Education says. 
The Provincial Education Secretaries and Directors have been authorised to make a decision on whether or not to hold schools tomorrow (June 03) due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions across the island, State Minister of Education Aravindh Kumar said.
The train services on the Kelani Valley line has been limited to Waga railway station as a bridge on the railway line between Waga and Kosgama has collapsed, Sri Lanka Railways announced. 
The Department of Meteorology says prevailing showery conditions are expected to continue in the south-western part of the island today. 
Major flood situations have been reported in Millakanda area of Kalu River and Pitabeddara area of Nilwala River, the Department of Irrigation said. MORE..
