The Joint Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (JCPSM) has announced that it will commence a strike tomorrow (June 5), citing several unresolved demands, including issues related to the healthcare sector. 
No decision has been taken to do away with the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination for now, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has stated. 
A heated situation has been reported between Sri Lanka Navy personnel and a group of fishermen in 11 vessels during a special operation conducted on June 3 (Tuesday) to apprehend those engaged in illegal poaching activities in seas off Kuchchaveli in Trincomalee. 
Australia has formally handed over the Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft to Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). 
Former Executive Director of the National Lotteries Board (NLB), Thusitha Halloluwa, has been further remanded until Friday (June 6), said Ada Derana reporter.
