A person has reportedly died after being hit by a train traveling from Matara to Galle. More
The Ella-Wellawaya road which was temporarily closed due to inclement weather conditions has been reopened for traffic movement. 
The Department of Meteorology says showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance due to pre-monsoonal conditions over the country and surrounding sea areas. 
The officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have arrested two Sri Lankan passengers who were in possession of 1,083 mobile phones and 200 high-capacity pen drives, which had not been declared.
