The Colombo High Court on Friday (26) fixed a date for the hearing of the case filed against the notorious criminal figure and drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka alias "Harak Kata" over his failed escape attempt from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). 
The Colombo Magistrate s Court has ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to expedite the probes related to the X-Press Pearl maritime disaster. 
The re-scrutinized results of the 2022(2023) G.C.E. O'L examination will be released before the 2023 (2024) O'L examination, Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha said. 
A 14-hour water cut will be imposed for several areas in Colombo District on Saturday (27), the National Water Supply Drainage Board (NWSDB) says. 
The Japanese Government has provided a grant of US$3 million through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), to strengthen inland fisheries and improve rural livelihoods in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries of Sri Lanka. 
In the first quarter of 2024, state revenue has reached an impressive Rs. 834 billion, says State Minister of Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
