Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says that certain political groups are unwilling to join a debate on economic policies as their parties have no proper outlook on the country s economy. 
State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed him to conduct a comprehensive analysis of interest rates applicable to the savings of senior citizens. 
The Department of Meteorology says that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m. on Saturday (11). 
The Commissioner General of Examinations Mr. H.J.M.C. Amith Jayasundara says that although a few incidents of irregularities were reported during the ongoing 2023 G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, no question paper leak has taken place.
