At least 50 people are dead following a fresh bout of heavy rain and flooding in central Afghanistan, an official said on Saturday. 
A total of 114 officers and 1,395 other ranks of the Sri Lanka Army have been promoted to their next ranks in view of the 15th Victory Day Anniversary. 
One Sri Lankan fisherman has been killed while another is reported missing after a multi-day fishing vessel collided with a ship off Valaichchenai, Trincomalee. 
Due to pre-monsoonal conditions over the country and surrounding sea areas, prevailing showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance further during the next few days, according to the Meteorology Department. 
The Ella - Wellawaya main road will remain closed for traffic from 8.00 p.m. today (17) until 6.00 a.m. tomorrow (18) due to prevailing inclement weather conditions, the Badulla District Secretary saidCopyright © 2007 - 2024 Col3neg. All Rights Reserved.
