Myanmar s economy is forecast to contract this year, the World Bank said Wednesday, as flooding and fighting take a severe toll nearly four years after the military ousted its elected government headed by Aung San Suu Kyi. 
Attorney-at-Law Manoj Gamage has claimed that the incumbent government has taken steps to significantly reduce the security detail of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. 
The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has issued a Gazette notification confirming that Faiszer Musthapha has been elected as a Member of Parliament through the National List of the New Democratic Front (NDF), which contested the 2024 General Election under the Gas Cylinder symbol. 
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has reported to the Colombo Magistrate s Court that a total of 2,017 complaints have been filed by depositors who claim to have been cheated out of their money after investing in Onmax DT, a private firm alleged to have been operating a pyramid scheme. 
The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition submitted by a lawyer, which claimed that his fundamental rights were violated by the Constitutional Council s rejection of a proposal made by then-President Ranil Wickremesinghe to appoint Appeals Court Chairman Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne as a Supreme Court Judge.
