President-elect Donald Trump on Monday pledged big tariffs on the United States three largest trading partners - Canada, Mexico and China - detailing how he will implement campaign promises that could trigger trade wars. 
The necessary provisions for incurring and accounting for certain essential expenses in the coming period of the year 2024 should be made through a Supplementary Estimate, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said during the today s Cabinet press conference. 
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando clarified the procedure for importing vehicles in the future, emphasizing the role of foreign reserve limitations in the process. 
Sri Lanka s President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will undertake an official visit to India during the third week of December on an invitation by the Indian government. 
India has taken strict action against substandard food imports, rejecting consignments of items like apples, nuts, alcoholic beverages, and sushi from countries including China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Turkey.
