The Vehicle Importers Association insists on the necessity of a proper regulatory framework for vehicle imports in Sri Lanka. 
The passenger ferry service between Nagapattinam and Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka, which resumed in October 2023 after almost 40 years only to be stopped days later, is set to recommence on May 13. 
Leader of the National People s Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake, while addressing a May Day rally on Wednesday, urged the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) to confirm a date before May 20 for the proposed debate on the policies of both parties on economic issues. 
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Dr. Gayashan Nawananda has reportedly joined the May Day rally of the United National Party (UNP) in Colombo.
