The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group said Friday they deepened joint efforts to bolster climate action. 
Three persons from the same family including a seven-year-old girl are reported dead after drowning in flood waters at Puwakpitiya. 
Two flights arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have been diverted to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport as a result of extreme weather conditions. 
The power supply has been disconnected to several areas as a precautionary measure due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions and floods, the Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy said.
