The Colombo Magistrate s Court has ordered the further remand of three suspects, including a Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT), who were arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes amounting to nearly Rs. 4.2 million. 
Former Minister Chandrani Bandara has been indicted today (June 6) before the Colombo High Court on charges of corruption. 
Several areas in Colombo and Kalutara experienced power disruptions earlier today (June 6) due to a tripping of the Biyagama-Pannipitiya main transmission line, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) confirmed.
