President Ranil Wickremesinghe called upon the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) and other political parties to extend their support to the government in safeguarding the agreements forged with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). 
The minimum daily wage in respect of the workers engaged in Tea Growing and Manufacturing Trade has been increased to Rs. 1,700. 
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa has reiterated that Sri Lanka s debt agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would be amended under an SJB government in the future. 
Former Sri Lankan cricket captain and former minister Arjuna Ranatunga joined the May Day rally of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) which was held in the Thalawakele area this morning (May 01).
