South Korea will set up a ministry to address the country s plummeting birth rate, president Yoon Suk Yeol announced on Thursday, calling it a "national emergency". 
The United Nations General Assembly on Friday overwhelmingly backed a Palestinian bid to become a full U.N. member by recognizing it as qualified to join and recommending the U.N. Security Council "reconsider the matter favorably." MORE>
The Commissioner General of Examinations Mr. H.J.M.C. Amith Jayasundara says that although a few incidents of irregularities were reported during the ongoing 2023 G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, no question paper leak has taken place. 
Debt owed by various countries, especially in South Asia and Africa, to China has multiplied in recent years. China is either the sole or the major lender for the majority of these countries.
