China s economy in the first quarter grew faster than expected, official data released Tuesday by China s National Bureau of Statistics showed. 
At least 39 people have been killed in Pakistan after days of unusually heavy rains battered the country s southwest. 
At least 11 commuter trains have been cancelled this morning (16), according to the Sri Lanka Railways. 
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and Mannar, Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology says. 
The Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kenji Okamura has commended the Sri Lankan authorities on the implementation of a strong program and excellent reform progress, says Finance State Minister Shehan Semasinghe.
