The Colombo High Court on Friday (26) fixed a date for the hearing of the case filed against the notorious criminal figure and drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka alias "Harak Kata" over his failed escape attempt from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). 
Five individuals including Ven. Ulapane Sumangala Thero who were remanded over the charges of obstructing the duties of public officials, have been granted bail. 
The Colombo Magistrate s Court ordered 04 including two Lieutenant Commanders of Sri Lanka Navy who were arrested along with a stock of drugs to be remanded in custody until May 09. 
The re-scrutinized results of the 2022(2023) G.C.E. O'L examination will be released before the 2023 (2024) O'L examination, Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha said. 
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Power and Energy to appoint a committee to study the matter and make recommendations to prepare a necessary legal framework for the introduction of a regulatory body for energy sector.
