The U.S. announced an agreement with the Iraqi government Friday to wrap up the military mission in Iraq of an American-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group by next year, with U.S. troops departing some bases that they have long occupied during a two-decade-long military presence in the country. 
The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur over most places of the Island during the afternoon or night. 
Singapore s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong have written to Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to congratulate him on his election, said Singapore s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Friday (Sep 27). 
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has called for an immediate audit of the Ministry of Sports financial allocations, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.
