State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that a committee was appointed on Friday (14) to devise a program on how to carry out vehicle importation activities in the future. 
The Meteorology Department forecasts that several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. 
A high level delegation headed by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya is scheduled to visit Russia to arrange for the repatriation of Sri Lankan ex-military personnel deployed in Russia for military purposes and the related discussions will be held on June 26 and 27. 
Sri Lanka s year-on-year GDP growth rate for the first quarter of 2024 has been estimated as 5.3% of positive growth rate, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
