The organisers of the Fox Hill Super Cross 2024 motorsport racing event claim that they had assured the safety of the spectators at the event and that yesterday s tragic accident was caused by the carelessness of the spectators themselves. 
The Veyangoda warehouse complex has only issued rice stocks deemed suitable for human consumption by the expert committee appointed by the Gampaha Divisional Health Services Director for distribution in the school meal program, says the Presidential Secretariat. 
The convenor of the Teacher-Principal Trade Union Alliance, Ven. Ulapane Sumangala Thero, and another person have been remanded until April 26. 
The stocks of rice stored in a government warehouse in the Veyangoda area, which was to be used in the meals program for schoolchildren, have been found to be substandard, the Public Health Inspectors Union alleges. 
Three persons, including an eight-year-old boy, from Sri Lanka reached the Dhanushkodi islet in India in the early hours of Monday. On information, the marine police brought them to the shore and conducted inquiries, The Hindu reported.
