China and the US face a choice between stability and a "downward spiral," Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told counterpart Antony Blinken on Friday in Beijing, as the American diplomat kicked off a day of meetings with top Chinese officials. 
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Power and Energy to appoint a committee to study the matter and make recommendations to prepare a necessary legal framework for the introduction of a regulatory body for energy sector. 
The Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Highways S.S. Mudalige has been appointed to oversee the functions and duties of the General Manager position of Sri Lanka Railways. 
The Cabinet of Ministers has green-lighted the proposal to hand over the management of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport to a selected private sector company which has submitted Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the purpose.
