Australia passed a law on Thursday to ban social media for children aged under 16 after days of heated debate, setting a standard for other countries to follow in a global push to curb the power of Big Tech. 
A virtual meeting was held yesterday (27) between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the President of the World Bank Group (WBG) Mr. Ajay Banga at the Presidential Secretariat, to discuss Sri Lanka s future development priorities. 
Payagala Police have arrested Dissanayakage Chaminda, also known as Petti Malli , a resident of the Koshena area who was allegedly involved in trafficking heroin to Payagala and several other areas. 
The A-9 main road to Jaffna which was closed at Omanthai due to floods has now been reopened for traffic movement, police said. 
Another suspect involved in the recent robbery in Minuwangoda of over Rs. 75 million in cash from a private company providing cash in transit services has reportedly fled to Dubai.
