Parliament is scheduled to meet this afternoon (Aug 09) to commence the adjournment debate moved by the Opposition on the government s policy statement presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe last week. 
The Cabinet of Ministers has green-lighted the proposal to implement a cost-based pricing formula for a domestic LP (liquefied petroleum) gas, the Government Information Department says. 
The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court today (09), that he has strong objections with regard to the Fundamental Rights (FR) petition filed by Rev. Fr. Jeewantha Peiris.
