The 15 Sri Lankan fishermen, who were sentenced to 7-year rigorous imprisonment in Myanmar for violating the maritime boundaries, have been granted a general amnesty. 
The owner of a street food eatery in Aluthkade, who was arrested for price-gouging a foreign tourist and behaving in a verbally aggressive manner, has been granted bail. 
Actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband, who were arrested over alleged fraud, have been further remanded on the orders of Colombo Fort Magistrate s Court. 
The 31-year-old, who was arrested for allegedly singing a distorted version of the popular New Year song Sooriya Mangalle by veteran singer Rohana Beddage and sharing it on social media, has been remanded. 
The Department of Immigration and Emigration says its new visa process and the online visa application portal will be implemented today (17).
