The necessary provisions for incurring and accounting for certain essential expenses in the coming period of the year 2024 should be made through a Supplementary Estimate, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said during the today s Cabinet press conference. 
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal for the restructuring of international sovereign bonds by way of swapping existing bonds for new bonds in accordance with the parameters indicated in the debt sustainability analysis conducted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). 
The 2025 Budget proposal will be presented to the Parliament on January 9, 2025, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa confirmed. 
The Colombo Magistrate s Court has issued notice on former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Arjuna Mahendran to appear before the court on 25 February 2025 over a case filed by the Bribery Commission pertaining to the controversial bond issue in 2015.
