The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the second review under the 48-month Extended Fund Facility (EFF) Arrangement, allowing the authorities to draw SDR 254 million (about US$336 million). 
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) announced that it functions as the regulatory and supervisory authority of Money or Value Transfer Service (MVTS) providers in Sri Lanka, effective from June 03, 2024. 
Sri Lanka will start talks on a free trade agreement with Malaysia, as it seeks to improve trade ties to support its recovery from a financial crisis, the Cabinet spokesperson said on Wednesday. 
Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has announced plans to enact approximately 15 crucial laws in the upcoming weeks.
