The hearing of the petitions filed before the Supreme Court seeking an order declaring that certain clauses of the Sri Lanka Electricity Bill, submitted by the government to the Parliament recently, are in violation of the Constitution commenced today (09). 
The Secretary-General of Parliament has informed the Election Commission that a Parliamentary seat in the Ninth Parliament has become vacant from 08 May 2024, due to the cancellation of parliamentary seat of Member of Parliament Diana Gamage. 
The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have seized a large consignment of smuggled cigarettes, valued at around Rs. 500,000 along with a suspect. 
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is yet to submit the proposals regarding the reduction of electricity tariffs to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), according to PUCSL chairman Prof. Manjula Fernando. Copyright © 2007 - 2024 Col3neg. All Rights Reserved.
