Sri Lanka s President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will undertake an official visit to India during the third week of December on an invitation by the Indian government. 
The necessary provisions for incurring and accounting for certain essential expenses in the coming period of the year 2024 should be made through a Supplementary Estimate, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said during the today s Cabinet press conference. 
The Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala assured that it is not permissible to hold commemoration events associated with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) organization. 
The Commissioner General of Examinations, Amith Jayasundara has announced that G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination candidates who are unable to reach their designated examination centres due to adverse weather conditions are permitted to sit for their exams at the nearest available centres. 
A Gazette notification has been issued assigning duties, subjects and functions, departments, institutions, statutory boards and public corporations to each Ministry of the new government. 
Train services on the up-country line have been disrupted due to mounds of earth and rocks falling onto the tracks between Badulla and Bandarawela, according to Sri Lanka Railways. MORE..
