The inaugural Sri Lanka-Kyrgyz Republic Foreign Office consultations have successfully concluded in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 15 April. 
Heavy rains and flooding persisted at Dubai International Airport (DXB), causing disruptions late into Tuesday evening. Operations halted for 25 mins in the afternoon, with 45 flights cancelled by 5-15 pm, a DXB spokesperson told Gulf News. 
The final rites of the late Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne, the founder and the President Emeritus of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka, will be performed with full state honours. 
Actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband, who were arrested over alleged fraud, have been further remanded on the orders of Colombo Fort Magistrate s Court. 
The 15 Sri Lankan fishermen, who were sentenced to 7-year rigorous imprisonment in Myanmar for violating the maritime boundaries, have been granted a general amnesty.
