The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two individuals who were in the possession of a total of more than 86 kilograms of narcotic substance in the Watareka area in Padukka. 
India has taken strict action against substandard food imports, rejecting consignments of items like apples, nuts, alcoholic beverages, and sushi from countries including China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Turkey. These products failed to meet the quality and safety standards set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. 
The Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa clarified that no decision has been taken to ban tuition classes in the country. 
Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake has ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant against Jaffna District Independent Member of Parliament Archchuna Ramanathan, through the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Jaffna.
