A large crowd continues to arrive at the National Film Corporation on Sunday (25) to pay their final respects to the late veteran actress Malini Fonseka, fondly known as the "Queen of Sri Lankan Cinema." 
Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni has issued a clarification following media reports that claimed 180 types of medicines are in short supply at hospitals across the country. 
Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake, who was arrested and remanded following the discovery of a gold-plated firearm at a prominent apartment complex in Havelock Town on Tuesday (20), has been admitted to the prison hospital. 
Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in the next 24 hours in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology said. 
A second-year student attached to the Wayamba National College of Education has reportedly committed suicide in her dormitory.
