The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed an indictment before the Colombo High Court against former Minister Mervyn Silva. 
The case filed against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who is accused of misappropriating over Rs. 12 million during the period leading up to the 2015 Presidential Election, was taken up for hearing again today (27) at the Colombo High Court. 
The deadline for the acceptance of applications for university admission for the academic year 2024'2025, for students who passed the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will end at midnight on 30 May, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced. 
Requests by Members of Parliament to increase their respective security detail will be forwarded to the National Security Council for consideration, Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya has said.
