The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed an indictment before the Colombo High Court against former Minister Mervyn Silva. 
The case filed against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who is accused of misappropriating over Rs. 12 million during the period leading up to the 2015 Presidential Election, was taken up for hearing again today (27) at the Colombo High Court. 
The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber level advisory for heavy rains in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Nuwara-Eliya, and Kandy districts, valid for the next 24 hours. 
The Election Commission has issued an urgent reminder to all political parties and independent groups to submit the names of their elected representatives to local government bodies, including the mandatory female members, before 12.00 midnight on May 30, 2025. 
Requests by Members of Parliament to increase their respective security detail will be forwarded to the National Security Council for consideration, Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya has said. 
The deadline for the acceptance of applications for university admission for the academic year 2024'2025, for students who passed the 2024 G.C.E.
