Two youths were reportedly killed in separate road accidents in the Sevanagala and Panamura police divisions yesterday (09). 
Gampaha District parliamentary candidate and leader of the Sarvajana Balaya alliance, Dilith Jayaweera, emphasized the need for politics free from hatred and anger, stating that racism should never take root in the country. 
Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya affirmed that law enforcement in Sri Lanka operates without political interference, following instructions from the current government to apply the law equally to all citizens. 
Police have apprehended a Buddhist monk in connection with a luxury vehicle found in the Mahiyanganaya area that reportedly had no valid registration or legal documentation. Officers suspect that the vehicle s license plate is also fraudulent, raising further concerns about the vehicle s legitimacy.
