The Colombo High Court today announced that it will deliver its decision on May 31 concerning the plea filed by four defendants, including former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, seeking the dismissal of the case filed against them by the Bribery Commission and the release of the defendants. 
The inauguration of mobile court systems, facilitating the remote presentation of suspects before courts through online channels, took place today (04) at three prisons in the Southern Province. 
Police used water cannons in order to disperse the protesting medical students near the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo 07, a short while ago, Ada Derana reporter said. 
At least 33 individuals including schoolchildren have been injured and hospitalised following a head-on collision involving a Sisu Sariya bus and a bus belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) near the E.C.C. Junction in Ampara. 
The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara district after 2.00 p.m. 
The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for high waves for the sea areas extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota for the period from 05.00 a.m. tomorrow (04 May) to 05.00 a.m. the following day. Copyright © 2007 - 2024 Col3neg. All Rights Reserved.
