The prices of Litro liquefied petroleum (LP) gas cylinders will be reduced with effect from midnight tomorrow (03), according to Litro chairman Muditha Peiris. 
The Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) has approved, subject to conditions, the Recovery of Loans by Banks (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill which was amended to facilitate legal provisions for the suspension of Parate Law until December 15. 
Police Special Task Force (STF) personnel have recovered a stock of drugs including 13 kg of heroin allegedly belonging to an underworld figure, during a rain carried out near the Sri Jayewardenepura University, Nugegoda. 
The Export Development Board (EDB) says that Sri Lanka s merchandise export performance in March 2024 amounted to USD 1,138.9 million, recording an increase of 9.77% compared to March 2023. 
The Meteorology Department has issued heat index advisories for Northern, North-central, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern, Southern and North-Western provinces and Monaragala district. The advisory is effective for tomorrow (May 03).
