A private passenger bus has collided head-on with a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus this morning (25) in Watawala. 
The Speaker of Parliament Ashoka Ranwala has stated that he intends to discuss with Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Archchuna Ramanathan regarding his recent controversial conduct. 
The Matara District Disaster Management Coordination Unit has confirmed that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure students sitting for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination tomorrow (25) can safely reach their respective examination centers, even in the event of an emergency situation. 
An extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued appointing Senior Prof. R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayake to be the competent authority for the purpose of exercising, performing and discharging in lieu of Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna. 
A 50-year-old man and his 20-year-old daughter are reported missing while five others have been rescued following a tragic boating accident in the Munnakkarai Lagoon in Negombo, police said.
