The Punjab Governor of Pakistan Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has assured that Pakistan is committed to extending cultural ties with Sri Lanka, the Pakistani media reported. 
The Ministry of Education has announced that schools in several districts in the Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces will remain closed on Tuesday (04) due to the prevailing disaster situation. 
The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has kept an SLAF Bell 412 helicopter on standby at the Neluwa Public Grounds to respond immediately to any disaster calls, the SLAF media unit said. 
The number of casualties reported due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions across the island has climbed to 12, as of today (June 03), State Minister of Defence, Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon said.
