A total of 15,667 personnel of the Sri Lanka Army who had been absent without leave (AWOL), including 373 currently overseas, have been legally discharged from service under the common amnesty, the Sri Lanka Army announced. 
President Ranil Wickremesinghe highlighted the stark contrast between global funding priorities, while pointing out the willingness of the Global North to fund death and destruction in Ukraine while showing reluctance to finance measures to combat climate change. 
The Irrigation Department has issued Amber flood warnings for low-lying areas of the Attanagalu Oya river basin and the Kuda Ganga sub basin of Kalu River, effective until 9.00 p.m. tomorrow (22).
