Sri Lanka s Foreign Minister Ali Sabry is scheduled to leave for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to attend the World Economic Forum s Special Meeting on Global Cooperation, Growth and Energy for Development which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 28-29 April 2024. 
Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha says that 60,000 applications were received for new admissions to National Colleges of Education (NIEs). 
UPDATE- Upul Shantha Sannasgala, who was arrested earlier on Thursday has been released on bail, on the orders of Welisara Magistrate s Court. 
Sri Lanka and Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a view to working together to promote the boating and yachting industries.
