VFS Global, the company at the center of controversy surrounding the issuance of on arrival visa at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), has issued a statement today in response to accusations and to clarify certain concerns which have been raised. 
Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles says that action will be taken against the person who had caused a disturbance recently in the visa issuance section at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake. 
A bag containing approximately 180 passports has been discovered in a drain in the Maharagama area. 
The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) says that the installation of related equipment to remove water trapped in the Karandagolla area in Ella has already been commenced. 
Grama Niladhari officers are engaged in trade union action by reporting sick leave today (06) and tomorrow (07), based on several demands.
