India s coast guard said Tuesday they had seized their biggest haul of illicit drugs when they stopped a fishing boat smuggling 5.5 tonnes of methamphetamine from war-torn Myanmar. 
The Local Consortium of Sri Lanka (LCSL), comprised of domestic commercial banks and financial institutions, has committed its full support for the Exchange Offer and Consent Solicitation launched today by the Government of Sri Lanka to restructure the US$12.55bn in outstanding International Sovereign Bonds (ISBs).. 
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva says the continued support from international financial institutions and other official creditors, together with the participation of bondholders in a debt exchange consistent with debt sustainability, is necessary to underpin the success of Sri Lanka s economic reform efforts. 
The A-9 main road to Jaffna has been flooded at Omanthai, prompting police to urge motorists to use alternate routes. 
Sri Lanka s new president, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, should address the country s many human rights problems by fulfilling and building upon pledges he made in recent election campaigns, Human Rights Watch has said in a letter to the president. 
The Steering Committee of the Ad Hoc Group of Sri Lanka Bondholders has announced its support for the restructuring terms of all 11 series of Sri Lanka s c.$12.55 billion in outstanding sovereign bonds, as detailed in Sri Lanka s Exchange Offer and Consent Solicitation Memorandum published today.
