Ukrainian counterintelligence investigators have foiled a Russian plot to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other top military and political figures, Ukraine s state security service said Tuesday. 
Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said that a Cabinet paper was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers to increase the retirement age of certain healthcare services including nursing staff to 61 years. 
The Recovery of Loans by Banks (Special Provisions) (Amendment) bill, which was amended to facilitate legal provisions for the suspension of Parate Law until December 15, 2024, was passed in Parliament without amendments on Tuesday (07). 
Former Provincial Councillor Nauzer Fowzie has been arrested by Kollupitiya Police for allegedly assaulting a person following an accident involving his vehicle, police said.
