An Air India flight from Phuket in Thailand to India s capital New Delhi received an onboard bomb threat on Friday and made an emergency landing on the island, airport authorities said. 
Hours after an Air India plane, carrying 242 members onboard, crashed in Gujarat s Ahmedabad, Tata Group on Thursday announced INR 10 million compensation to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. 
Oil prices surged more than 9% on Friday, hitting their highest in almost five months after Israel struck Iran, dramatically escalating tensions in the Middle East and raising worries about disrupted oil supplies. 
Former Executive Director of the National Lotteries Board (NLB), Thusitha Halloluwa, has been further remanded until June 20, said Ada Derana reporter. 
Israel launched widescale strikes against Iran on Friday, saying it targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders and that this was the start of a prolonged operation to prevent Tehran from building an atomic weapon.
