At least 19 people were killed and over 90 others injured as severe weather, including strong winds and hailstorms, lashed several districts across Pakistan s eastern Punjab province on Saturday, an official statement said on Sunday. 
A second-year student attached to the Wayamba National College of Education has reportedly committed suicide in her dormitory. 
The remains of late veteran actress Malini Fonseka, fondly known as the "Queen of Sri Lankan Cinema", has been brought to the National Film Corporation a short while ago for the public to pay their last respects. 
Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in the next 24 hours in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology said. 
Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake, who was arrested and remanded following the discovery of a gold-plated firearm at a prominent apartment complex in Havelock Town on Tuesday (20), has been admitted to the prison hospital.
