During his official visit to Indonesia, President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. 
Due to South-West monsoon conditions which are gradually establishing across the island, prevailing showery and windy conditions will continue further, says the Met. Department. 
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed the resumption of the "Suraksha" student insurance program, which was temporarily suspended due to economic challenges. Starting from the first week of June, all school students across the island will once again be able to benefit from this insurance scheme. 
Leader of the National Peoples Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake states that an NPP government will abolish all special privileges of the Heads of the State including pensions, allowances, official residences, vehicles etc.
